Everything You Need To Know About Pest Management
For most people, having quality sleep is very important. That’s why there are some who invest in comfortable beds to ensure a long and peaceful sleep that will prepare them for another day of hard work. And yet, no matter how great or expensive a bed is, they are still susceptible to bed bugs. These pests are really hard to detect and their symptoms can sometimes be confused with other ailments. Don’t fret though, because we’re here to help you out with your bed bug-related predicament. Symptoms
After getting some sleep, you find a lot of rashes on your skin. Worse, they are so itchy as well. This is the first definite sign of bed bugs infesting your sleeping area. Although bed bugs don’t carry diseases with them like other pests, their bites can itch so bad and cause wounds on your skin. At the same time, bed bug bites can also trigger harmful allergies. Another sign that you have bed bug problems is when you can't get a good night’s sleep. Even if you’re tired from your stressful day at work, you immediately lose your ability to fall asleep due to bed bugs irritating your skin. If you have experienced the first two symptoms, better check the bed right away. Once you’ve found small spots that look like the color of rust, you can be sure these pests have already made a home in your bed. These spots are created when bed bugs leave behind stains of blood after biting humans. A great suggestion in determining the presence of bed bugs is to use your nose. That’s right, your sense of smell can detect these pests if they are actually bothering your precious sleep. Bed bugs release an odor that resembles an old towel. The stronger the scent, the more of these pests are living in your bed. If you think your bed smells like a pile of used towels, it might be time to have it inspected or cleaned. Treatment Bed bug bites can be easily treated with the help of common products and materials inside a household. For starters, washing the area of your body bitten by bed bugs with soap and water can greatly help lessen the itch and irritation. Just leave the soap on your skin for a while before washing it to completely wash the affected body part. If soap can’t get the job done, using either lemon juice or baking soda can also help. For baking soda, just mix it with warm water until it becomes paste-like while you can apply lemon juice on a piece of cotton. Once you’re done preparing these ingredients, apply on your skin to heal bed bug bites. Natural remedies won’t be enough sometimes. In this case, you can opt to go for an over-the-counter anti-itch cream. These products should contain cortisone to effectively treat bed bug bites and alleviate the itch they cause. If all else fails and these bed bug bites are not gone within a week, you can always schedule a meeting with your doctor. Your physician can carefully assess the proper medical treatment for these bites without causing any other complications. Need help in getting rid of bed bugs?
